This has been how you play a game of Five card Stud:

  • A round of betting occurs, with the person displaying the maximum valued playing card leading off.
  • All competitors are given another card, face up.
  • Another round of wagering takes place.

  • Another round of wagering takes place, but for this round the minimum bet has been doubled.
  • All participants obtain their final playing card, face up.
  • One final round of betting occurs.

After the concluding betting round the remaining participants show their completed hand, with the most recent person to raise displaying their cards first. The player holding the highest regular poker hand wins the pot.

Wagering Note: Five Card Stud is different from Texas Hold’em and Omaha Poker games as the player holding the highest value face up set of cards wagers first for that round. The betting then continues in a clockwise direction around the table, but the first bettor for each round might change because the best cards showing moves around the table.
